How to Connect Your NuWatt Smart Light to Your Home Network

Looking to connect your NuWatt smart light to your home network? Just follow this easy step-by-step guide.

Before You Start

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind:

  • Wi-Fi & Bluetooth: You will need to enable both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your phone. Note NuWatt smart lights use only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
  • Smart Life App: You will need to download the free Smart Life app and log in
  • Android Users: These instructions reflect iPhone menus, and the screens may look slightly different on Android devices


Step 1 - Add Your New Light

  • Tap the plus sign (+) in the upper-right corner of the app 
  • From the dropdown, select Add Device

Step 2 - Connect to Your Wi-Fi Network 

  • Enter the name and the password of your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network


Step 3 - Start the Auto-Add 

  • After you enter your network info, the app will automatically start searching for any pairable lights on your Wi-Fi network. Now all you have to do is help it find the one you want!

 

Step 4 - Enable Pairing Mode on the Light 

  • Turn the light on and off rapidly two times to start pairing: 
    • Turn on, wait one second
    • Turn off, wait one second. 
    • Repeat one more time, then turn the light on and leave it on

After a few seconds, your NuWatt light will start flashing, indicating it’s ready to pair.

 

Step 5 - Pair the Light  

  • Go back to the app and wait for your light in the list of found devices. Tap the image of your smart light to pair it.

 

Step 6 - Finalize Your Setup  

  • Once the pairing is complete, follow the prompts to finalize the setup.
